After twenty years of un-wedded bliss Georges and Albin, two men partnered for better-or-worse get a bit of both when Georges’ son (fathered during a one-night fling) announces his impending marriage to the daughter of a bigoted, right-wing politician. Further complicating the situation is the ‘family business’: Albin and Georges run a drag nightclub in St. Tropez, where Albin is the “star” performer ‘Zaza’. Georges reluctantly agrees to masquerade as “normal” when he meets the family of the bride-to-be. But Albin has other plans, with hilarious results.

“This is Jerry Herman’s best musical yet–happier, more assertive, more buoyant than Hello Dolly! or Mame.” – The New York Post

“The schmaltziest, most old fashioned major musical since Annie. Highly enjoyable.” – The New York Times

LION IN WINTER (A Staged Reading)

by James Goldman

Sibling rivalry, adultery and dungeons – Lion in Winter, by James Goldman, is a modern day classic.  Comedic in tone, dramatic in action – the play tells the story of the Plantagenet family who are locked in a free for all of competing ambitions to inherit a kingdom. The queen, and wealthiest woman in the world, Eleanor of Aquitaine, has been kept in prison since raising an army against her husband, King Henry II.  Let out only for holidays, the play centers around the inner conflicts of the royal family as they fight over both a kingdom, as well as King Henry’s paramour during the Christmas of 1183. As Eleanor says, “every family has its ups and downs,” and this royal family is no exception.

“A work of intelligence, astringent wit, and much theatrical skill.” – The New York Times

“Marvelously articulate language, with humor that bristles and burns” – The Los Angeles Times

Yellow chronicles a year in the life of the perfect family in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Their son Dayne is the golden football star while their daughter Gracie is an overly-dramatic actress. Gracie’s best friend is a young gay boy, Kendall, who is at constant odds with his abusive, fundamentalist mother, Sister Timothea. The play opens with the start of the football season and high school auditions for “Oklahoma.” Everything falls apart when an unexpected tragedy rocks the Westmoreland family to the breaking point.
